Advantages
Histogenics products use the patient’s own cells to grow articular cartilage. NeoCart is a three-dimensional, hyaline-like neocartilage implant grown from patient’s cells (chondrocytes) outside the body. The VeriCart matrix allows cartilage cells to grow within its micropores at the site of the damage.

Intellectual property

It also has licensed three patents and 12 patent applications related to the use of high pressure and the tissue engineering processor, and extensive patent coverage for the bioglue component of its scaffolds.
